Erin Savage

Erin Savage was born on December 21, 2011 as the third daughter to proud parents Aaron and Deajah.  She joined her big sisters, Mercedes and Dekihya in permanently outnumbering their Dad, four to one! Erin's dad is her hero and her favorite person in the world!

Erin enjoys going to church and praising God. She loves to dance (and easily masters any and all TikTok dances), is always looking for a great DIY craft idea, and is an excellent cook. Dancing brings her joy and allows her to express herself freely while cooking is her way of sharing love with others, creating delicious meals that bring comfort and happiness to those around her. She is kind, energetic, and always eager to learn new skills.

The Savage family is founded in faith and Erin is a walking example of that faith in action. Reading her Bible provides her with comfort and strength, reminding her of God's promises and love.

Diagnosis

In the fall of 2023, Erin started having headaches and fainting episodes, which led us to take her family to take her to the emergency room. Initially, they thought it might be diabetes or the Texas heat. Her primary care physician then referred them to a neurologist at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. An MRI on September 11, 2023 revealed that Erin had DIPG, a condition her family had never heard of before. Despite this devastating diagnosis, she has shown incredible strength and resilience. Her bright spirit and unwavering faith in God inspire everyone around her.

In the midst of her treatments, Erin finds comfort in the prayers and love sent by friends and family. She often talks about how she feels God's presence, especially when she's surrounded by those who care for her. Her journey has brought many people together, united in their hope and prayers for her recovery. Erin's story is a powerful reminder of the strength that faith and community can provide, even in the face of life's hardest battles.

Her family shares Erin's story because they believe in God's power and that their daughter is a walking miracle, and will be able to tell her testimony and help save other lives.

Erin is a walking ray of sunshine and the Archer Foundation is proud to support this precious family as they battle for more good days.
